Below is another Google presentation I put together last year at the request of a few of my colleagues.
I use Jing quite often to capture and publish video tutorials for my students. I got tired of showing them how to create and share a Google doc (over and over and over). So I published the tutorial on my class website. What a timesaver! (Also works well with new students. If you are like my school, you are constantly getting them.)
I have also used StudyBlue online flashcards for some time. Last year I just created an account for my TA’s to use (one less thing for me to do). They would make the flashcards for the vocab or roots for the week. Again – timesaver! I would tweet the link (my Twitter feed is available on my website for those who don’t have Twitter) for the students to use in order to study for quizzes. Students can also make their own flashcards and share them via email, Twitter, Facebook, etc.
The cool thing about StudyBlue is that they now have an app 🙂 My kids were using their phones to study! Anyway, each teacher can have their own account, but assign themselves to a certain school. That way if a student has two teachers using StudyBlue, they can log into their own personal account and add both teachers’ classrooms. Then they have access to the flash cards for both classes all in one place.
